Just a minute of the past, but a million possibilities for the future. 
Welcome to The Future's Footprint, a digital "shop" where you can step into the shoes of the Black women who have made today possible. Only a fraction of changemakers and innovators are captured on this page. ​Knowing this, I challenge you to step into the shoes of these women and any woman that you admire, and to ask yourself, what footprint are you leaving behind? 
"The Future's Footprint" is a part of the Kennedy Center's TYA Art Under a Minute Commission and sits within Brunson's anthropological exploration of the past, present, and future of Black womanhood entitled "H(a)unted". 
I want this page to be a resource for deeper learning. My goal is to gather the wealth of knowledge on these women to provide clearer pathways to learning about history. Every source of information is linked for you to leave this site and continue learning on your own, then return when you are hungry for more.

A minute in their shoes...

 I keep coming back to the fact that I didn't even know what I didn't know. These are women who have made today possible. Some of the most visible women who had made today possible. How is it, then, possible that my education taught me so little about these women? If we aren't able to see these very public women as fully, how can make space for more?
